David was British Ambassador to Greece from 2009 to 2013 and then Executive Director of Tata Limited, the European subsidiary of the Indian-headquartered Tata Group until 2018.  He is now a Non-Executive Director and consultant, with activities ranging from software to business with India and South-East Europe.   He read Classics at Oxford and Modern Greek linguistics at Cambridge and started his diplomatic career in Athens.
