Glen Suarez
Glen advises FMA’s clients on energy and utility sector policy and reform; and on financial and economic development issues. He recently led an engagement advising a government on creating its first utilities regulator.
Glen has been an investor on behalf of sovereign wealth funds and pensions funds for over twenty years and is now Chairman of Knight Vinke Asset Management, a well-known alternative asset manager as well as Chairman of Impax Environmental Markets plc, the UK's largest environmental investment trust.
Glen has several decades of experience in the energy sector. He has worked on energy privatisation and restructuring programmes for several Governments, including the UK, Argentina, Brazil, Italy, Germany and Spain; as both a Chartered Accountant with PwC and later as an investment banking specialist at Kleinwort Benson and then at Morgan Stanley.
Glen’s has also served on the Capital Markets Advisory Committee, a body set up under the International Financial Reporting Council charter to advise the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) on accounting issues from the perspective of market users.
