Jayesh is a Partner in Baringa’s Energy and Resources sector and has more than 25 years of experience in Energy consulting, working with a broad range of GB, European, and Global energy companies. Jayesh has played a lead role in the development of the wholesale and retail gas and electricity markets across Europe, and has advised governments, regulators and companies on the design and operation of these markets, and in the drive for decarbonisation. Jayesh has also assisted a number of major regulated and non-regulated companies in undertaking investments, restructuring, and performance improvement.

Experience
Jayesh has had a long consulting career and has worked at partner level in consulting organisations for over 25 years. In this time, he has been the project partner and director for a number of major programmes of work, involving sizeable teams and multi-million £ consulting budgets. Jayesh has successfully directed and delivered projects to design and implement strategic change and performance improvement for a number of the major players in the energy sector, and has played a lead role in the development and implementation of the electricity and gas market mechanisms across Europe.

- European gas transmission companies in developing their strategies for Hydrogen
- Gas storage project due diligence, including the consideration of opportunities in Hydrogen
- Development of a country roadmap for the long-term development of Hydrogen in Lithuania
- Commercial and regulatory due diligence for an investor in electrolyser technologies
- Gas network capacity management to accommodate Hydrogen for a capacity platform
- Development of pilot projects for a European energy company – including required policy support
- Emerging industry model and regulation for a major European network operator.
Development of a blueprint for a gas exchange for Eastern Europe.
Assisted a broad range of companies across a broad range of countries in developing their gas transmission arrangements to adopt entry-exit models, and designing gas tariff arrangements for these new models.
Programme Director for the Network Code and Competition – this 5 year programme included the strategy and approach, design of the competition arrangements, establishment of the Network Code and competition, and the delivery of the supporting systems.
Programme Director for NETA – played a lead role in the establishment of the programme and its governance and industry consultation arrangements, as well as the design and delivery of the enduring organisation.
Establishment of a common entry / exit model for gas for Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania.
A number of studies focusing on the role of gas in Bulgaria, the case for an early switch out of coal generation, and a review of the Bulgaria NECP (2018-2020).
Eastern Europe – A number of projects including developing a framework for Gas Hubs, Blueprint for a gas exchange in Ukraine, and strategy for increasing investment in upstream exploration and production in Ukraine.
