Stavros Messinis is the founder of The Cube Workspace, Athens' largest coworking community, which hosts some of Greece's best technologists. Prior to founding The Cube, Stavros was a software developer and had a long career working in the
Government sector in Information Management roles. Since founding The Cube, Stavros and his team have created an ecosystem that is home to most of Athens’ technology events, hackathons, innovation sessions and training events. Through coding and business bootcamps, Stavros and The Cube are creating the next generation of top
tier coders and businessmakers. Recognized locally and internationally as the de-facto startup space of Greece, several major Greek startups have emerged through collaborations with The Cube and its founders. Prior to this Stavros had cofounded Greece's first coworking community, coLab Athens.
CampusBus : As part of The Cube’s social responsibility activities, Stavros founded the CampusBus an educational and entrepreneurial activation activity that is based out of a roaming bus that travels from city to city teaching skills around entrepreneurship and job readiness. This initiative has received funding from the US State Dept as well as Google and other international corporations.
Stavros is also a member of the Startup Weekend - Global Facilitation Team . Startup Weekends are 3 day long events where developers, designers and business gurus gettogether to launch startups during a weekend. Stavros has been involved with Startup Weekend since 2009, having facilitated over 60 events in Canada, Germany, Cyprus, Greece, Saudi Arabia, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom and Moldova. Stavros’ first business was founded at a Startup Weekend. He also represents The European Pirate Summit , one of Europe’s best known niche business events where tech industry professionals meet and exchange ideas, best practices, pitch ideas in front of investors and generally do brave things in business. Stavros has lead this event as Facilitator since 2013
